Welding Positions according to DIN EN ISO 6947

The poster clearly shows the test position in which plates and pipes are joined according to the standard, for example in welder or welding procedure qualification tests. A distinction is made between fillet welds and butt welds. The poster is only available as PDF.

Welding Consumables for MIG/MAG Welding

Welding Consumables for MIG/MAG Welding

Welding consumables are products that become molten during welding and flow together with the molten base material. Thereby they contribute to the formation of the weld (joint welding) or the coating (surfacing). They significantly determine the properties of the weld such as strength, deformation capacity and corrosion resis-tance. When joint welding, the deposited weld metal usually has the same properties (such as strength, ductility, strain) as the base material due to the welding consumable that was used. When surfacing, the deposited weld metal often has different properties than the base material (such as higher hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance).

Welding Consumables

Filler metals are products that melt during welding, flow together with the molten base metal and thus contribute to the formation of the weld seam (joint welding) or the coating (buildup welding). They significantly determine the properties of the weld seam.
